Eagle Class 2015

We all had a great time in our class assembly, particularly when we got the parents to join in ! Well done to everyone, you were amazing and the song a real treat . We really enjoyed our lunch all together afterwards.

Our crowns were very impressive for the Queen's Garden Party. Have a look at our gallery below . We also had  photographs taken with the Queen !

Lots of work is going on in preparation for our move to middle school this half term. We will be visiting new school and teachers getting ready for September.....still plenty of time left at Beoley though!

Science week was great ! We have been doing lots of different activities, including a Planetarium in the classroom, making Goo and meeting the Science Boffin .

Before the Easter break we had our Easter hat day , there were some fabulous creations .Well done for all your hard work in creating these.

Once back to school after the break we have been busy out on various trips. We really enjoyed the one to Cheltenham to learn about the Water Cycle , even with the smelly bits ! It was fascinating to see how the water was cleaned ready to be reused in just 24 hours ! Ask your child to explain the different parts of the process to you.

MAY 2016

Last week we had our trip to the Malvern Spring Garden Show . Congratulations to everyone on our success at the show. We have had a wonderful time planting and creating our garden and it was lovely that it generated so much interest. The visitors to the show were certainly impressed that the children had been involved in every stage of the process.

Eagle Class had great fun on World Book Day . They all looked fantastic as you can see from the pictures ! Well done everyone. As part of this special day we shared some of our favourite books and decided on new books that we would  like to try next .

 With our Malvern trip fast approaching, Catherine from the centre very kindly came to speak to us. She showed us some of the equipment that we will be using, answered all of our questions and explained the activities we'll be undertaking. We all agreed it helped us feel even more excited about our visit !

Through our topic we have been learning lots of interesting things about Maya Civilisation, recently. Ask us all about our findings ! We have been busy baking goodies on Tuesdays with Mrs. Taylor. These will be for sale each Wednesday after school and all the proceeds will go towards our defribrillator fund .Don't forget your purses and wallets !

On Fridays we have been continuing with our science topic Solids, Liquids and Gases, last week learning about dissolving solids ,so we made some still lemonade , delicious !

This week we have been busy helping Mrs. Marshall in the garden  preparing for our show garden, To Beoley Or Not To Beoley, at the Malvern Show.  The seeds we planted have grown very fast and we are now sending groups of children to pot them on. We are looking for extra greenhouse space as there are so many ! The children have really enjoyed the experience and looking forward to the next stage of this amazing project .

JANUARY 2016

We have had a busy month at the start of the year. Eagle Class had an amazing time at the YOUNG VOICES concert ! What an unforgettable experience ! Thank you to Miss Holmes for all her hard work.

We have begun our explorers topic and have been studying Tim Peake. It was so exciting to watch his moon walk !

Cooking with Mrs. Taylor is in full swing ,we are preparing meals fit for explorers.

Our Malvern trip is only a few weeks away now and we will be having a visit from one of the centre's staff to tell us all about what we'll be getting up to.

In science we shall exploring solids,liquids and gases and carrying out lots of different experiments in the classroom. 

Finally don't forget  for P.E. this term swimming kits are needed and old trainers.

November 2015 

Eagle Class have been extremely busy in the last few weeks! We were very proud to be tour guides ,showing people around Beoley,n on Open Day. We received lots of lovely comments as we showcased our fantastic school.

We enjoyed learning about middle school life as part of our Inspire Workshop and had some probing questions for the teachers and pupils who visited us !

We learnt lots about the Science of Sound on our trip to the Symphony Hall. We are now  all experts on the workings of the ear !

The Quicksticks Hockey Tournament was most enjoyable and we all worked so well together in our teams.

We continue to create culinary delights with Mrs. Taylor each week ! Lego cakes, and salmon and broccoli bakes are the latest treats.

Our Lego project is well underway and we have ben creating commercials and filming them this week. We've been requesting lots of interesting props !

As the children now know their parts for the Christmas Production please ensure that they all know their lines. Not long now !

Mrs. Sweeney is creating an advent calendar with the class. In order to encourage the gift of giving ,could each child make something small to go in the tubs for each day. It could be a small Lego model ,a bracelet, or anything that will fit in a tub the size of a yogurt pot . Many thanks.

In Science we have been building circuits and designing our own lights . We then used all the skills we had learnt to build our lights with a working circuit.We were thrilled when our bulbs finally switched on ,using our paper clip switches.  In Music with Mrs. Hamilton we have been learning music notation and learning lots of new songs. Please ask for renditions at home ! Rehearsals for Young Voices are going extremely well, we are really excited about this, especially as the whole class is taking part.

Next week we have our final cheerleading session, we are looking very professional! Beth has kindly said she will come back, after the break, so that the rest of the school can see what we have been up to .

We've had some wonderful cooking sessions with Mrs.Taylor on Wednesdays.Thank you Mrs.Taylor! Multi-coloured cakes were the latest creations linked to our class books. All recipes are available on the class notice board.

The Interest Boxes have been coming in thick and fast, we have loved looking at these. Please note that this homework is due in the week we break up for half term.

We have been learning about different countries around the world and linking this to The Day the Crayons Quitand the new book The Day the Crayons Came Home. We have been debating, creating informal and formal letters and postcards all linked to these texts.

We've been practising our French skills ready for our French Cafe at Open Day. Keep learning those words over Half Term please !

I'm sure you all agree Eagle Class did a fantastic job at the Harvest Festival.Well done to you all!

Rehearsals for the Christmas Production will take place after Half Term! Please prepare your audition over the holiday .

Just a reminder that the Eagle Inspire Workshop will take place on November 5th. Please prepare your middle school questions !

We have settled in extremely well to life in Year 4 and all the responsibilites it brings such as monitor jobs.

Our classroom has some new areas that we'd like to share with you.

We have Creative Island where we will be getting creative in all sorts of ways and earning stamps for our passports. Discovery Corner houses all sorts of interesting things for us to learn about .We can bring things in for Discovery Corner too !

We have the opportunity to win one of three books each term. We can earn book credits for amazing our teachers and are entered into a raffle for the book of our choice. The Book Swap Shop allows us to swap books from home (with parental permission !)with our peers.

cooking with Mrs. Taylor and trying out cheerleading and tag rubgy in P.E. Watch all you  Rugby World Cup teams !!

In science this term we are looking at the topic electricity, and finding out as much as we can about how electric circuits work . We have been building our own circuits and discovering what happens to the circuits when you add different items from around the classroom into the circuit. We were amazed to find that we could make the circuit work using parts of our clothing !

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED OUR ROMAN FORUM ON TUESDAY. IT WAS A FABULOUS AFTERNOON FOR EAGLE CLASS . ALL THE MONEY RAISED WILL GO TOWARDS OUR TRIP TO BATH NEXT TUESDAY, WELL DONE EAGLE YOUR TEACHERS ARE SO PROUD OF YOU FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS. WE HAVE SPOTTED MANY BUDDING LITTLE APPRENTICES AS YOU MANAGED TO PRODUCE SOME GREAT SALES ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON. YOU WOULD ALL BE HIRED NOT  FIRED !!

THE ROMAN ARMY

We have been having such a busy time with our project on the Romans. We have recently been studying the Roman Army and creating our own Roman Shields. What do you think ? We have been finding out about life as a soldier in the Roman Army. Welcome to Eagle Class

We have had a busy first few weeks in our new class . Our topic is The Romans and we are hoping to go on a trip to Bath after half term. At the moment we are making lots of things to sell at our Roman Forum ,which is taking place later in the term, to help raise some money for our big trip. We can't wait !!
